Altamont Beer Works was established in 2012 and opened its doors in 2013; becoming the first brewery in Livermore since before prohibition. Our main focus has always been to brew quality crafted beers, while giving our customers a great experience. Here at Altamont we pride ourselves on our hop forward beers, focusing on huge flavors and aromas, with a mild/balanced bitterness. Our full portfolio of beers has increased to a well rounded lineup of ales and lagers ranging from: wheat beers, sessions, pale ales, IPAs, Belgians, lagers, sours, and barrel aged beers. We have paved the way for Livermore craft beer, and continue to grow both inside and outside our community

Position: Taproom Beertender

Reports to: Taproom Manager

FLSA Status: Part-time, Non-exempt

 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Take orders from patrons for beer, merchandise, food or other non-alcoholic beverages; check patrons’ identification in order to ensure that they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
  • Engage customers and answer questions; educate guests on our beer and brand
  • Inform guests of daily specials, upcoming events or beer releases, scheduled food vendors and musician performances
  • Maintain Altamont’s beer service standards and minimize product waste
  • Monitor Taproom cleanliness including all guest facing areas, restrooms, office space and cold box
  • Demonstrate the highest integrity of fiduciary responsibilities through money handling and accurate POS system transactions
  • Prepare Growlers, Crowlers and preorders accordingly
  • Maintain working knowledge of the descriptions of each beer menu item, including basic ingredients and unique features
  • Ensure each guest is treated with the best possible customer service
  • Immediately report any customer concern to the Taproom Manager or Assistant Manager
  • Complete all necessary side work as laid out in the duty expectation list behind the bar
  • Must have an interest and love of craft beer
  • Strong customer service skills and friendly personality
  • Possesses the desire to serve guests exceptionally in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrate professionalism, collaborate with Taproom Team, and be independently driven
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure or when dealing with disgruntled customers
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally with Management at all times
  • Ability to be a strong team player and get along well with co-workers
  • Ability to adjust to changing schedules and priorities
  • Must be punctual, have good attendance, and a reliable means of transportation to work
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays preferred
  • Duties are performed in both indoor and outdoor settings
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds
  • This position will require you to stand, walk, and be on your feet for long periods
  • Bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and performing repetitive motions

Education & Experience:

  • Customer service experience in a retail, quick-service restaurant environment, taproom, or brewery is preferred
  • Advanced computer knowledge, specifically POS system (Square), Homebase, Gmail, Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Must be able to produce a California Food Handler Certification within 30 days of hire and every 3 years thereafter

Position: Territory Sales Manager

Reports to: General Manager

FLSA Status: Full-time, Exempt

 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage 100+ on and off-premise accounts and independently navigate territory route schedule
  • Organize and distribute product samples and marketing materials to new and existing accounts
  • Consult with account buyers during weekly meetings to manage inventory and negotiate the sale of new and existing portfolio items
  • Exceed all weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales quotas and product placement objectives for draft and packaged products
  • Build rapport with customers and develop lifelong partnerships
  • Support on and off-site local marketing plans and initiatives to increase guest traffic
  • Coordinate with accounts to schedule pint nights, beer dinners, or other promotional events
  • Train and educate account buyers and support staff on our unique beer qualities and vibrant brand; provide any customer service follow up and answer any/all questions in a timely manner
  • Follow up with customers daily through email, text, and phone
  • Facilitate customer product trainings to review our beer features, special pricing, and new or upcoming releases
  • Perform quality control checks to oversee company product is within code and aligns with our self-distributing standards; independently troubleshoot any unforeseen product issues
  • Work with upper management to implement and build successful sales strategies
  • Manage own calendar, track sales data and keep accurate records
  • Keep keg and can inventory in an effort to expedite continuity of supply
  • Submit budget expenditures related to sales and promotional efforts
  • Must have an interest and love of craft beer
  • Must be able to critically assess beer quality
  • Must be able to work autonomously and be self-motivated
  • Demonstrate professionalism and collaborate with sales teammates
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure or when dealing with disgruntled customers
  • Ability to adjust to changing schedules and priorities
  • Ability to work nights/weekends as needed
  • Duties are performed in both indoor and outdoor settings
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds without assistance and maneuver 144 pounds safely with proper body mechanics
  • Moving of beer with carts, dollies, hand trucks, and other moving equipment
  • This position will require you to stand, walk, and be on your feet for long periods
  • Bending, twisting, reaching, pushing, pulling, and performing repetitive motions

Education & Experience:

  • Must have 2 years of sales experience, preferably in the craft beverage market
  • Advanced computer knowledge, specifically Gmail, Google Drive, Google calendar, Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Possess a valid driver’s license, proof of auto insurance, and a reliable vehicle to service sales territory
